The aspiring FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) receives a unique assignment: With the help of the brilliant psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), she must try to catch a serial killer. Time is of the essence, as Buffalo Bill has already taken a new victim. What makes the Starling/Lecter team particularly special is that Lecter is himself a convicted murderer with cannibalistic tendencies. The film won five Oscars in 1992: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
