The most popular people in fantasy face their greatest challenge. What began in the first volume of "The Return of the Dwarves" is now leading to a dramatic finale. Hundreds of cycles have passed in the Protected Land. The dwarf Goïmron works as a gem cutter in the city of Malleniaswacht. He is particularly fascinated by the ancient times, the great eras of the five dwarf tribes, and so he constantly searches the markets for records and artifacts that provide clues to their proud history. In the process, Goïmron unexpectedly comes across a book that is handwritten and written in Dwarvish. Given the wealth of details, there is no doubt: the book must have originated from the heroic Tungdil Goldhand himself - yet he has been considered missing for hundreds of cycles after a devastating earthquake in the Gray Mountains. But the last entry is recent - how can that be? As Goïmron unwittingly sets out in search of the legendary dwarf, he and his band of companions soon find themselves caught up in ancient intrigues and brutal power struggles involving ruthless humans, mysterious Albae - and dragons! Once again, the Protected Land needs the wisdom, humor, combat prowess, and stubbornness of the dwarves. Old and new heroes rise to meet the dangerous challenges.
