The noise of time

From the love of music and the constraints of power. The Soviet composer Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich is one of the most renowned composers of his country. When Stalin attends a performance of one of his operas one evening and leaves the hall during the intermission, Shostakovich begins to wait night after night, dressed and sitting on his packed suitcase next to the elevator of his apartment, for his arrest. But no one comes. Instead, he enjoys success with his Fifth Symphony and becomes a favorite of the masses once again. However, he now has to fend off unwanted privileges that come with the party's appropriation. It is no longer a matter of life and death, but of artistic and moral integrity. And this is no less substantial for the composer.
