The new wilderness

America in the near future: In the vast megacities, people suffer from the consequences of climate change. Children are at risk of dying from smog. When five-year-old Agnes falls ill, her mother Bea makes a bold decision: Together with a group of desperate individuals, she allows herself to be sent by the government to one of the last nature reserves. The "pioneers" are to live there as nomadic hunters and gatherers – without destroying the untouched nature. However, as Agnes grows older and becomes more guided by the wilderness, the bond between mother and daughter is increasingly put to the test.
