The Magic Flute. A fairytale opera

Tamino, together with the merry birdcatcher Papageno, is to free the beautiful Princess Pamina, because the dreaded Prince Sarastro is holding her captive in his castle. To ensure that their daring rescue plan succeeds, Pamina's mother, the Queen of the Night, gives Tamino and Papageno a magic flute and a set of chimes. The rescuers can use these to turn evil into good and tame wild animals in the forest. Tamino and Papageno pass difficult tests until they are all happily embraced. Bert Alexander Petzold tells the fairytale opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) in an exciting and amusing way for children aged five and over. The illustrator Helena Perez Garcia succeeds masterfully in making the eventful plot comprehensible with novel, colourful pictures. In addition to a staged reading with Antje Hamer and sounds, the audiobook features plenty of original music. The audiobook is part of the series "Great Classics made easy. DIE ZEIT-Edition" series.
