Episode 1
In the small town of Somewhere, there is great excitement: the lion has escaped from the zoo. The lion means no harm to anyone; on the contrary, when Mr. Dreipfennig falls into the water in shock, the lion tries to rescue him, but accidentally ends up in Totokatapis's boat. The mooring rope snaps, and the lion begins his journey to Africa.

Episode 2
Doc takes Kommitte and Wibitte to their Uncle Guckaus, the lighthouse keeper. The next day, when a wave sweeps the box with Ka, the parrot who cannot fly, away from the shore, the children follow him out to sea in Schluckaufs's sailboat.

Episode 3
Nenemama and Nenepapa catch the parrot to serve him as a tasty roast to their sick daughter Nenekiki. However, the storm has also driven Kommitte, Wibitte, and the lion to the island, and they manage to free Ka.
