Martin Suter, born in 1948 in Zurich, lives with his wife in Spain and Guatemala. He was an advertising copywriter and a successful advertiser, a profession he has repeatedly supplemented or interrupted with other writing activities, including GEO reports and numerous screenplays for film and television. Since 1991, he has lived as a freelance author, and since 1992, he has been writing the weekly column "Business Class" in Weltwoche.
Martin Suter was awarded the Golden Diogenes Owl in Zurich on March 29, 2004.
