The last train

War year 1943. The Nazis want to make Berlin completely "free of Jews." Over 70,000 Jews have already been deported from the capital. In April, a train with 688 Jews—crammed into cattle cars—rolls out from track 17 at Grunewald station, heading towards Auschwitz. Whether young or old, academics, artists, or boxers, it no longer matters. The journey to death lasts six days. A struggle against unbearable heat, thirst, and hunger begins. In their great despair, some try to escape from the rolling prison hell, including the couple Henry and Lea Neumann and the young Ruth Zilberman. But time is running out—and Auschwitz is drawing ever closer...
