Product details
It is the story of one of those encounters that can change a life forever: the meeting in a park between Germain, around 50, practically illiterate, and Margueritte, a small elderly lady and passionate reader. They are separated by forty years and a hundred kilos. One day, Germain accidentally sits down next to her. Margueritte reads passages from novels to him, opening up the world and magic of books, from which Germain has always felt excluded. For his friends at the bistro, who have always considered him a simpleton, the perception of his intelligence suddenly shifts. However, Margueritte is losing her eyesight, and out of deep friendship for this charming, mischievous, and attentive old lady, Germain practices reading and shows her that he will be able to read to her when she can no longer do so herself.
