A superhero who garners admiring glances from everyone. Picture having such incredible superpowers that you could save the world at any moment and protect humanity from villains—at a thousand places simultaneously, of course. Faster than light, stronger than a tree, no, an entire forest, more stretchable than the most flexible rubber you could imagine. What would you do?

This is exactly the question Bob Parr faces as he once again shuffles paperwork on his desk in his job as an insurance agent. A dreadfully boring underemployment for a man of action who not long ago was a superhero known as Mr. Incredible, full of courage and grit. Even his incredibly talented family cannot comfort him. Helen Parr, who once made history as Elastigirl, is mainly busy taking care of their teenage daughter Violet and their hyperactive son Dash, who both need to learn to control their own superpowers—Violet can turn invisible and protect herself and others with an invisible force field, while Dash loves to run away at super speed. Only baby Jack-Jack seems completely normal, but he is no less work. Thus, Mr. Incredible sighs as he watches himself grow fatter while his superpowers rust away.
