The heart of Cologne

"Das Herz der Kölner" is a unique language collage with original Cologne sounds, recorded and edited between 1989 and 1991. On the street, in the bakery, on the market square, in the office and in the living room, we had the people of Cologne tell us their stories on tape and then did what one of them recommended: "Joh, then you can still tell us the most beautiful things". And so something completely new was created. A linguistic document in which the guaranteed non-celebrity Cologne man from the street himself has his say, captured in personal moments and embedded in Cologne music interpreters such as the Bläck Fööss, Arno Steffen, Gerd Köster and the Dreigehirn, Peter Horn, the Vier Botze and the Colonia Duett. The meaning of our motto becomes clear in all articles: The heart of the people of Cologne is on the tip of their tongue. Recorded live and edited by Günter Steinig (ex Höhner), Dr Roland Kaehlbrandt (linguist) and Arno Steffen (musician) in 1991 at the Fertig United Studio in Cologne.
