An elderly couple loses their only son to a sudden death from cancer. Grief settles into their villa, which is filled with countless memories, turning the family home into the stage for a grotesque drama. The couple becomes increasingly entangled in ever more bizarre mourning rituals. A veritable petty war begins, both desperate and comical at the same time. On one side is the son of a mountain dweller who rose to the rank of Colonel in the Swiss Army, and on the other side is his wife Lucienne, heir to a bourgeois existence. And between them lies the doom that, in the form of a cemetery kitten, literally sneaks quietly into their fading lives.
