Accompanied by his family, civil engineer Bill Markham supervises the construction of a dam project in the Brazilian Amazon when one day his son Tommy is kidnapped during an outing by indigenous tribesmen. Unable to accept the loss, Markham embarks on a desperate search that takes him deep into the jungle. When he finally finds Tommy after ten years, his son has grown into a man and integrated into the indigenous community. To win his son back, Markham must confront his own demons.

For the first time on Blu-ray and DVD, digitally remastered, this brilliantly staged Amazonian tale comes from Oscar-nominated director John Boorman.

Boorman's film oscillates between a touching family drama and a tension-filled adventure, loosely based on a true story. The seven-year-old son of a Peruvian engineer was kidnapped in Brazil and years later found by his father as the chief of an Amazonian tribe. The Emerald Forest tells the fictionalized version of this story with stunning visuals.
