The Divine Order

Nora is a young housewife and mother who lives in a quaint Swiss village with her husband and two sons in 1971. There is little awareness of the societal upheavals of the 1968 movement here. However, the peace of the village and family is significantly shaken when Nora begins to advocate for women's suffrage. "The Divine Order" is the first feature film about Swiss women's suffrage and its late national introduction in 1971. Screenwriter and director Petra Volpe takes the audience on an emotional journey to rural Switzerland in the 1970s during this groundbreaking time. "The Divine Order" pays tribute to all the people who fought for equal political rights back then, as well as to those who continue to advocate for equality and self-determination today.
