The darkest hour

May 1940: The initial military successes of the Nazis plunge the British government into an existential crisis, leading Prime Minister Chamberlain to resign. He takes office but soon finds himself pressured by the public and government members to negotiate a peace treaty with the seemingly unstoppable Nazis. However, through his extraordinary foresight and integrity, Churchill manages to hold on to his convictions and fight for the freedom of his nation. As the Battle of Britain rages and the German invasion looms, the overwhelmed British public, the skeptical king, and even his own party turn against Churchill.
