An important telegram must be delivered from Moscow to Siberia – and the young officer Michael Strogoff is tasked with this mission. He is to warn the Tsar's brother about the traitor Ivan Ogareff. Disguised as a cloth merchant, Strogoff embarks on a long and dangerous journey that takes him into the vastness of the Russian Empire. If Jules Verne's father had had his way, this 1876 novel would never have existed. However, instead of taking over the family law firm, Jules Verne chose to become a writer. Günter Sauer gives Verne's adventure novel his distinctive voice.
