Paris 1942: Joseph (Hugo Leverdez) is eleven years old, a bright, blonde boy who is looking forward to the summer holidays - even though much is different on this June morning. Little Jo is puzzled to find that overnight he has lost access to cinemas, fairs, and public parks. Nevertheless, he, his family, and friends enjoy the modest idyll on the Butte Montmartre. In the shadow of the Sacré-Cœur, they feel at home, lead an ordinary life, and believe themselves to be safe despite the German occupation - until the morning of July 16, 1942, when their fragile happiness shatters...
