The broken feather

At the end of 1815, during the time of restoration. The young widow Henriette is abruptly awakened at night and must leave Prussia within an hour due to a police decree. Her accounts of the war's suffering and the rulers' failures during the Battle of the Nations have caused discontent in high circles. Her uncle Friedrich Gerlach in Freiberg, Saxony, takes her in. However, times have changed even here: intensified censorship, a return to corsets, and societal pressure to remarry weigh heavily on her. Together with the traumatized Felix, an old ally from the days of war, she stands against the rising spirit that celebrates book burnings and assassinations as heroic deeds.
