Helga runs a small midwifery practice called "Stork's Nest" together with her colleague Monika. While Helga loves her job very much, not all expectant mothers can relate to her brusque manner. Complaints are piling up, and Monika decides that something needs to change. Her solution: Madita. She is a newly trained midwife, twenty years younger, brimming with energy, and can hardly wait to start her first job at the "Stork's Nest." However, Helga is appalled by the newcomer: Madita talks non-stop, is excessively sympathetic, and constantly makes esoteric suggestions for improvement. Their joint home visits get off to a rocky start. Until it becomes clear that both women have more in common than they initially thought.
