How it all began: Commissioner Wallner's baptism of fire. In the autumn of 1992, Clemens Wallner is a freshly minted criminal commissioner. During a drinking spree at a mountain hut by Lake Tegernsee, which Kreuthner had taken him to, Wallner and Kreuthner become involved in a hostage situation. From the hostage-taker, Wallner learns of a dramatic story that took place in the last days of World War II, which provides Kreuthner, alias "Corpse Leo," with a clue to discover his first corpse. It is a skeleton in a jewel-encrusted coffin with a bullet in the skull.
