The flying eye

Above the smog-filled Los Angeles, Frank Murphy pilots his helicopter, Blue Thunder, to maintain order in the city from the air. The machine is equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance technology and six 20mm cannons. When Murphy uncovers a secret government conspiracy, Thor, involving brutal murders against politically undesirable citizens, he realizes that his Blue Thunder is being used not only as a data collector but primarily as an executor of death sentences. His conscience is alarmed. He is forced into a private war against Thor, and a deadly hunt begins over the skyscraper canyons of Los Angeles.
