Single-use plastics and bottles have become one of the hottest topics in recent years, leading to an increased use of recycled polyester. Recycled polyester, also known as rPet, is produced by melting down existing plastic and spinning it into new polyester fiber and yarn. This process gives plastic a second life and uses 59% less energy in production compared to virgin polyester. For example, 16 water bottles (500 ml) produce enough fibers to create a 30 cm toy. This product and/or its packaging is made from recycled raw materials or parts thereof. This method is more environmentally friendly, as the raw materials do not need to be newly sourced at a high cost. Yogurt cups, single-use bottles, plastic waste, and film packaging are incorporated into the manufacturing cycle through recycling.
