On the first day of her studies in Dublin, Debbie wants only one thing: to catch the next train that will take her back to the dairy farm where she grew up. But there, she is met by a melancholic, alcoholic uncle and a depressed mother. Debbie has no choice – she must throw herself into university life, and she does so with vigor. Until the events on the farm catch up with her, and the questions of where she belongs and how she wants to live become more urgent than ever before.
