Slumdog Millionaire

The young Jamal Malik sits in the packed TV studio. He is a contestant on India's celebrated TV show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?". Born in the slums of Mumbai, Jamal soon accomplishes what no one had thought possible before. Unstoppably, he answers question after question. For each question, he recalls a moment from his life, and to everyone's astonishment, it becomes increasingly likely that he will achieve what most of his fellow countrymen can only dream of: winning the 20 million rupee grand prize. However, none of the outsiders suspect that Jamal is being accused of being a fraud by the television crew and the police. Yet the boy did not even sign up for "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" for the grand prize.
