During an e-bike excursion with Doctor Langhammer, Kluftinger makes a gruesome discovery: On the Himmelhorn, one of the most dangerous mountains in the Allgäu Alps, he finds the bodies of three crashed mountaineers, two of them strangely enough in historical costumes and with antique equipment. The third is the well-known mountain filmmaker Andi Bischof. Everything looks like an accident, but evidence quickly grows to suggest a murder. Kluftinger investigates in the taciturn families of the two mountain guides who live in the remote valleys and who have maintained a deep enmity for decades.
