Homeless yet full of hope. Alija Bet is the code name for the illegal immigration to the British Mandate territory of Palestine. It is the glimmer of hope on the horizon for Leah and Jannek, who are both the only survivors of their families from the concentration camps and are now stranded in bombed-out Munich in 1946, traumatized. They know that many dangers await them during the crossing and upon arrival. But they have no alternative. And so, the two set off across the Mediterranean – in hopes of finding a new home.
