This is now finally possible with the so-called "slice of life" anime series "Shirobako". This anime allows an almost realistic insight into an anime production and is wonderfully humorous, dramatic, and full of allusions to real anime. Experience episodes 1-12 and accompany the young Aoi and her friends on their way to the anime stars!

Produced by Studio P.A. Works and directed by Tsutomu Mizushima, this series of 24 episodes was created from the bowels of an anime production in 2014. In 2015, "Shirobako" also won the Animation Kobe Award in the TV anime category.

The plot centers on five friends, Aoi, Midori, Shizuka, Misa, and Ema, who produced their own first anime while still in high school. They promise each other to turn their passion into a profession, because for all of them, it was an unforgettable feeling full of pride and satisfaction when they finally completed their own film. Two years later, at least Aoi and Ema have actually made it and are now experiencing what it really means to hold your own in a creative, but also incredibly stressful environment. Although Aoi is now working as a production assistant at a well-known anime studio, the verve and enthusiasm of her school days has faded. From there, she still hopes for the old vow of the five friends to develop and produce their own professional anime: But will all five come together again to make their dream a reality?
