Product details
42 days after the end of World War II, no one in the Schwarzenberg region of the Erzgebirge really knew what was supposed to happen next. Apparently, none of the occupying powers were interested in the region - neither the Americans nor the Russians marched in. And so Schwarzenberg was left to itself for over a month. Years later, the writer Stefan Heym placed this period at the center of his utopian novel, in which the residents of the region declare the "Republic of Schwarzenberg" and self-govern the area democratically for several days. Unabridged reading with Jürgen Hentsch, Siegfried Worch, 1 mp3-CD | approx. 9 hours 32 minutes.
