's A Christmas Story

Like every day, Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) shows himself to be a miser and misanthrope on Christmas Eve, whether he is barking at his loyal accountant (Gary Oldman) or his cheerful nephew (Colin Firth). Shortly thereafter, he encounters the ghost of his deceased business partner, Jacob Marley, who is paying the price for his heartlessness in the afterlife. Marley, wanting to spare Scrooge a similar fate, tells him that he will be visited by three spirits. And indeed: The spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future take the old Scrooge on a journey that ultimately opens his eyes. He is confronted with truths he would rather deny, but he must open his heart and let go of his years of resentment before it is too late.
