Rilke Project - Live

To celebrate the 140th birthday of Rainer Maria Rilke, the creators of the Rilke Project, Richard Schönherz and Angelica Fleer, invited renowned actors and musicians to the Alte Oper Frankfurt. In front of an enthusiastic audience, Ben Becker, Hannelore Elsner, Nina Hoger, Robert Stadlober, Max Mutzke, and Peter Maffay interpret Rilke's poetry to the compositions of Schönherz and Fleer. The protagonists are supported by the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt under the direction of Christian Kolonovits, the Rilke Project band, accordionist Enrique Ugarte, Grammy Award-winner Paul McCandless, and moderator Gerhard Kämpfe. Touching readings of Rilke's letters and accounts of encounters with contemporaries like Stefan Zweig and others complete the evening and bring us closer to the great poet.
