Rhythm is the cornerstone of making music. Without rhythmic interplay, neither classical music ensembles nor big bands, youth orchestras, rock bands, musical groups of any kind, or even symphony orchestras would be conceivable. Furthermore, any form of early musical education and the learning of a musical instrument would be hardly imaginable without rhythmic exercises. When introducing children to music, it typically begins with simple rhythmic musical elements. After all, there is hardly anything a child learns faster than clapping a simple rhythm. The little ones usually find it easy to connect with rhythm, as they have not yet faced the challenging hurdles of mastering a complex musical instrument. Quick successes can be achieved, and rhythm also serves as a catalyst for later learning a proper musical instrument.
