Queen Gedren is greedy for power. A magical stone, kept in a monastery, could grant her superhuman abilities, and she will stop at nothing to obtain it. During the raid on the monastery, all the inhabitants are killed, including the sister of Red Sonja, the swordswoman. Red Sonja then vows revenge on Queen Gedren and sets out on a journey to retrieve the magical stone. Along the way, she meets Lord Kalidor, who appears to be the only one capable of destroying this talisman. Kalidor and a prince, who travels the world with his servant, are Red Sonja's only companions on her perilous mission.
