Little Remy dreams of becoming a famous chef. In doing so, he has to struggle not only with the prejudices of his family, but also with the obvious problem that the profession he is aiming for is a rather rodent-hostile trade: Remy's a rat! When fate sends Remy to Paris and he is in the restaurant of star chef Auguste Gusteau - his great idol! - he learns from his own fur about the dangers of haute cuisine for a small rodent. But when kitchen boy Linguini accidentally discovers Remy's spectacular cooking skills, the tide turns: the two join forces and set off a series of exciting and hilarious events that soon set the culinary world of Paris in a state of turmoil.
