Joelle Davidovich Pomponette, known as Pompo, has an eye for successful films. As an up-and-coming producer in the dream factory of Nyallywood and the granddaughter of a legendary film magnate, she delivers one reliable hit after another. However, this has little to do with a genuine love for cinema; they are all trashy B-movies filled with plenty of skin, action, and explosions. Pompo's personal assistant, the nervously neurotic Gene, takes a completely different approach: cinema is art and must enchant! Pompo is skeptical but is swept away by Gene's fascination and assigns him the task of directing her next screenplay. Thus, Gene embarks on an adventure to unite art and commerce, not to overspend his tight budget, and ultimately finish on time! Will Gene's film debut succeed and perhaps even become a hit?
