Full of humor, heart, and insider knowledge, Frank Goosen tells the story of a rebellious youth soccer team from Bochum, a season full of events in the district league, and three men who learn more from eleven teenagers than they ever thought possible. Förster has no interest in soccer at all. Therefore, he is initially skeptical when his friend Fränge takes over the training of a Bochum youth soccer team and asks him to help. He agrees – after all, it’s about mending Fränge's relationship with his son Alex, who also plays on the team. They receive active educational support from the teacher Brocki, who soon joins them on the field twice a week. They realize that they have vastly underestimated the task: the pubescent boys are quite a handful, and they have to deal with opinionated player parents, dubious rival coaches, and narrow-minded referees. However, on the field and in the locker room, a community gradually forms that is about much more than just the battle against relegation.
