The historic little castle of Brooke Phipps, where she runs a charming small hotel, is not in good shape. Just before Christmas, the bank wants to take Brooke's historic home from her, made possible by a forgotten loan and some semi-legal dealings. Unfortunately for the bank, the responsible banker Grant is not as heartless as his superiors would like him to be. Instead of quickly putting Brooke out on the street, Grant increasingly falls under her charm and falls in love with her.
