In the animal kingdom of a clearing deep in the forest, unrest reigns. The nearby brook dried up weeks ago, and the last painstakingly gathered water supplies are running dangerously low. Despite the looming hardship, only the hedgehog girl Latte believes the words of the eccentric raven Korp, who claims that the bear king Bantur has stolen the magical water stone and hidden it in his palace cave. Brave Latte embarks on a long and uncertain journey, determined to bring the water-giving stone back to the peak of the White Mountain. Unexpectedly, she is followed by Tjum, a timid and fearful young squirrel. Due to the great dangers lurking outside the clearing, Tjum tries to persuade Latte to turn back, but his pleas fall on deaf ears with the headstrong Latte. Thus, the unlikely pair must learn to trust each other on a path full of adventures. In the end, however, having grown into true friends, they can stand up to even the largest and most dangerous animals of the forest.
