In daring aerial firefighting missions, Pete Sandich risks his life every day. For the sake of his girlfriend Dorinda, he wants to quit the deadly job. During his last mission, disaster strikes: his plane explodes. However, he doesn't end up in the afterlife but in a world between life and death. A mysterious woman gives him one last task: he must pass on his courage and skills to a young pilot. Returning as an invisible guardian angel, Pete finds himself very busy, especially since his protégé is quite clumsy... except when it comes to Pete's girlfriend Dorinda.
