When intergalactic aliens misunderstand the video transmission of classic old arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they launch an attack on Earth. They use the games as a blueprint for their various assaults.

President Will Cooper relies on his childhood friend, 80s video game champion Sam Brenner, who now works as a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcade gamers. Their mission is to defeat the aliens and save the planet.
