With the implementation of the EP09 as a mass-produced model, PIKO fulfills a heartfelt wish of many model railroaders – and not just in Poland. The realization of the characteristically angular prototype in model form has been achieved with the usual high quality. The smooth edges of the modern locomotive design are complemented by fine details. The PIKO Expert model features the finest engravings, three-dimensional representations of vents, a highly detailed roof design, and intricately designed bogies. Thanks to its high weight and a perfectly tuned drive concept, the locomotive boasts high traction, which is further optimized by the factory-installed digital decoder. The model is finished with a clean, prototype-accurate paint job and intricate printing. It comes equipped with a PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible speaker. The model carries the quality mark "fits mfx®." To ensure that digital decoders can be reliably used by all users of the current Märklin digital central units, a new quality mark "fits mfx®" has been introduced in collaboration with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx® test and passed it comprehensively. These decoders, as well as the locomotives in which they are installed, carry the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
