Both players have the following pieces available: eight pawns, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, one queen, and one king. Each piece has its own way of moving.

Chess has simple rules, is not difficult to learn, and one can quickly start playing. Nevertheless, chess is very versatile, complex, and challenging.
