The construction contractor Jochen Schuster takes out loans in the millions to finance a dubious construction project and fulfill the extravagant wishes of his mistress. When his mountain of debt becomes so high that no bank will grant him credit anymore, he comes up with an idea: He scrapes together his last resources and shows up at the lending institutions in a borrowed limousine and wig, trying to borrow money under a false identity. The institutions fall for the trick and grant him the loans to protect German cultural assets. Schuster can hardly believe his luck and handles the unexpected windfall as irresponsibly as before.
