For many years, Captain Nolan has been obsessed with hunting one of the dangerous orcas with his whaling ship. When he and his crew encounter a pod of these giant creatures at sea, he fatally injures a pregnant whale and her calf. Her mate, an enormous male orca, then embarks on a relentless quest for revenge, claiming the lives of several crew members. However, Nolan refuses to be intimidated and engages in a deadly struggle against the beast in the Nordic Arctic Ocean.
