The glacier researcher Smilla leads a reclusive life in Copenhagen. Only her friendship with her neighbor boy Isaiah can warm the cold-hearted Greenlander a little. When the boy falls from the roof one day, there is no doubt for Miss Smilla: it was murder. Because the police believe it was an accident, the snow expert begins to investigate herself. More and more, Smilla finds herself in the crosshairs of her mysterious opponents.
