Arata Miyako, a new recruit at the Midnight Occult Civil Servants, has somewhat settled into his new job. Reports are piling up about individuals who disappear after using a certain elevator, only to reappear shortly after without any memory of what happened. Convinced that this must be the work of an Another, Kyoichi and Arata begin their investigation. They discover that heartbreak can lead to far worse consequences than just a broken heart. However, tensions also arise within the team. A case related to the disappearance of Kyoichi's sister seventeen years ago puts the Midnight Occult Civil Servants to the test. It seems that Kohaku is also involved in this mysterious story where young girls are being abducted.

The Midnight Occult Civil Servants operate between dusk and dawn – and right in the middle is rookie Arata, who experiences more thrilling adventures in episodes 5 to 8.
