Marley and I 1&2
DVD, 2011, German, EnglishProduct details
Marley & I (USA 2008, 111 minutes, FSK 0):
John and Jenny Grogan decide to turn their backs on the bitterly cold winters in Michigan and start a new life in West Palm Beach, Florida. They get jobs at two competing local newspapers, buy a house and avoid the first pitfalls of their young marriage between career and the far-reaching decision to start a family. John doesn't feel ready for fatherhood yet. Fair interim solution: a dog. And Marley comes into her life like a drumbeat.
The Grogans adopt the cuddly Labrador puppy, which grows into a 50 kilo steamroller in no time at all and inexorably tears the Grogans' house apart. Marley flies out of doggy school house high, gnaws through walls and sofas, steals the Thanksgiving turkey, destroys cushions and flowers, drinks from the toilet bowl and hunts the parcel carrier. Even the new, very expensive collar he does not find captivating at all.
And although Marley thoroughly turns the Grogans' lives upside down, he accompanies them with unconditional loyalty through good times and bad, so that even John and Jenny have to admit: "The worst dog in the world" has made them better people.
Marley & Me 2 (USA 2011, 83 min., FSK 0):
The chaos on four paws is back and again no eye is dry!
Labrador Marley is very young, spirited and cocky, but no matter what he does, all he has to do is wag his tail and everything is fine again. This time the cheeky puppy also has a lively voice that makes him even more irresistible.
At a dog competition in the neighbourhood, Marley and his summer friend Bodi Grogan turn everything upside down. Marley does not only show it to the very big ones of the dog clique and tricks Dobermans, Shepherds and Collies, with his unique and amiable nature he also conquers the hearts of all bipeds.
