Krabat

In the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War, 14-year-old orphan Krabat is guided by an inner voice to the gate of a mill. With the words "This is Krabat. If he passes the probationary period, he will belong to you," Krabat is introduced by the mill master to the group of apprentices. Soon, Krabat realizes that not everything is right at the mill. The apprentices seem to perform their hard work astonishingly effortlessly. Only when the mysterious and fearsome godfather's wagon arrives in front of the mill once a month does the work seem to stretch on endlessly for a night. After a year has passed, Krabat is initiated into the secrets of the mill.
