Winnetou I (Germany/Yugoslavia/Italy 1963, 101 min, FSK 6):
The friendship between Winnetou, the chief of the Apaches, and Old Shatterhand begins with bloody fights. As an emissary of the railway company, Old Shatterhand is supposed to thwart the sinister plans of bandit Santer, who wants to lead the new route of the Great Western Railroad right through the Apache region, contrary to the agreement. Since the Apaches do not know of Old Shatterhand's good intentions, they see him as an enemy and want to take revenge on him. However, Winnetou recognizes in the prisoner his savior, who had previously freed him from the hands of the enemy Kiowa.
Winnetou II (Germany/Yugoslavia/Italy/France 1964, 95 minutes, FSK 6):
The Apache chief Winnetou desires a lasting peace between Indians and whites. However, the villain Forrester is only interested in the oil deposits, which he and his gang want to cheat the Apaches out of. Cunningly, he turns the U.S. Army against the Indians. Just in time, Old Shatterhand is able to defuse the situation, which is stretched to the limit. At a peace conference in Fort Niobrara, several chiefs reconcile with the whites. Only a short time later, Forrester threatens the peace again with an attack on a settler's trek.
Winnetou III (Germany/Yugoslavia/Italy 1965, 93 min, FSK 6):
Winnetou's dream of peaceful coexistence between Indians and whites is thwarted repeatedly by sinister crooks and desperados. This time, the greedy Rollins and his gang stir up the Jicarillas' chief, White Buffalo, against the settlers. Just when Winnetou, who enjoys the reputation of many tribes, wants to bring the chief to his senses, the murdered son is carried into the camp by White Buffalo—with Winnetou's knife in his back. The blood brothers are threatened with death at the stake. At the last moment, the faithful Sam Hawkens can save his friends. But in the renewed fight against Rollins, a fateful hour strikes for the noble Apache chief.
