Old Huber was actually longing for summer with all her heart. The whole village is on holiday. Wonderful, this peace and quiet! But she rejoiced too soon. Something is brewing in the monkey heat of Glaubenthal, and soon the first corpse is found in the straw. Yes, you read that right: Straw. To be precise: in a bale of straw. Thomas Raab sends his investigator Hannelore "Hanni" Huber on the hunt for criminals again with great black humour and a dark love of storytelling. And these seem to be found in two families who are at odds with each other: the Praxmosers and the Grubmüllers - all of them first-class cattle (although one of them is actually a pig farmer) and prepared to do anything. So far, so bad. But what on earth has young Helga got to do with all this, this enchanting creature in a floral dress that the Huberin has never really noticed before? One thing is certain: she is by no means as harmless as she looks. And soon Hanni will have to really get her act together to keep up.
