Inkheart

Mortimer "Mo" Folchart and his twelve-year-old daughter Meggie are passionate about books. Both have the ability to bring the characters from these books to life when they read aloud. However, this extraordinary gift is not without danger: whenever a fictional character emerges from the pages, a real person must disappear in their place. When they visit an antiquarian bookstore once again, Mo hears voices he hasn't heard in years. And when he locates the book from which they come, a chill runs down his spine: it is the very book called "Inkheart," with its illustrations of medieval castles and strange creatures, that Mo has been searching for since Meggie was three years old—when her mother Resa vanished into this mystical world. With the help of the book, Mo aims to find and rescue Resa, but his plan is thwarted by the evil "Inkheart" villain Capricorn, who kidnaps Meggie and demands that Mo bring more wicked characters from the book to life. To save his daughter and banish the book characters back to their rightful world, Mo enlists a motley group from both the real world and the magical realm for help: together, they set out to bravely restore order amidst great dangers.
